I gotta hit that one next time. It's so nice up there....I couldn't believe how few people were on the trails, reminded me of Colorado a bit...

i don't like trails that often have loads of people on them. I sometime make my own trails.

There was a family with two small kids and five dogs that I passed about 100 yards up the trail. After that I did not see anyone on the way up or down. So I had the whole trail to myself.

I really like it up there, everyone was really super nice to us. Which was weird since it's so close to LA..

Here's a shot I took in the morning looking to the West from our camp..

Awesome shot Dan.

@Bruce : Is the Tahquitz Peak the same place where the Tahquitz Falls located?

Tahquitz peak and rock are above Idyllwild. The falls are on the Palm Springs side of the mountain.

I love that trail. I used to hike it all the time...you don't see very many people on it. The last time I hiked it, I met Wiley Coyote on the trail, we said "hi" to each other and went our own ways

lay down the pipe, Peter. I think your regular stuff got mixed with the 'special' stuff.

j/k

that's pretty cool you saw a coyote. We've seen a bobcat up in Morro Bay. Saw it walking away from us from about 20 yards up trail, hunting rabbits.

I love the lookout on top. The guy showed me around the tower. I sat on the bed, looked around, and got really scared. :-)

The view was spectacular for me. perfect 360.
